This is a giclée fine art print on archival quality textured canvas, professionally printed in my studio and made to order.
Canvas prints are un-stretched and either ship flat in a cardboard mailer or rolled in a tube (for larger sizes).
We take great care to ensure the print resembles the original painting as closely as possible.
Keep in mind that depending on the print size you order, the image may be cropped slightly in order to match those dimensions.
This print is borderless. If you would like a border, add a white border to your print here.
The idea for the Alps series was born during my time spent hiking and hut-hopping through the Swiss and Austrian Alps. What I love about painting landscapes is capturing the feeling a certain place first evoked - freedom, gratitude, presence, WONDER. My hope for these paintings is that they serve as invitations into that sense of wonder and awe. That they would be little windows to a state of mind where you can breathe deeply and for a moment feel a bit more alive.
This scene in particular is from a photo I took one morning as we were hiking back toward Innsbruck from Pfeishütte. The sun had just risen and was illuminating little patches of grass in the valley and casting a pink glow on the stone mountainside. We knew we had a rocky (literally and figuratively) trek ahead of us so having this view to usher us into the day was a welcomed gift.
